Cellulite and Sleep

Cellulite and Sleep

You may not think that sleep would be part of a Cellulite Tip course, but sleep actually plays an important role in the reduction of cellulite in various different ways as follows:

1) If you are doing exercises to tone the underlying muscles where the cellulite is, then you must rest.  Exercises that strengthen and tone work by breaking down muscle tissue and then rebuilding so that the muscle becomes stronger and more firm.  The "repair" process happens when you sleep.  If you don't allow muscles this period of rest, they just break down.

You don't want "broken down" muscles!  The extra fat that is contributing to the cellulite will look MUCH better over a firm surface.

2) I can't over emphasize the importance of visualization when you are trying to change your body.  The period of time when you are falling asleep is great for picturing your perfect cellulite-free body.  Make sure that you are really relaxed, take some deep breaths and firmly see your cellulite free body in your mind (I'm doing this as I write this to you!)

3) You may want to review the topical treatment tip for this one.  Before bed, if you decide to use cellulite reducing creams or lotions, you may want to combine them with massage and then put on a pair of flannel bottoms to increase heat and circulation.

Of course, a good night's sleep always makes us look and feel better!

Sweet Dreams!
