The 3 Most Effective Ways To Reduce Cellulite

Cellulite is fat that is caught between bands of connective tissue underneath the skin creating a rippled bumpy appearance.  In order for you to reduce cellulite, you must confront 3 things:

1) Fat

2) Muscle

3) Skin Tone

1) Fat

Reducing the amount of fat on your body will help you to reduce cellulite.  One of the healthiest ways to get rid of fat is cardiovascular exercise.  In order for cardiovascular exercise to be effective, you must workout at the proper intensity.  Measure intensity by using the Talk Test.  The Talk Test means that you should be working so hard that you cannot sing but you should still be able to talk.  Choose any mode (walking, running, biking, dancing) that you will actually do. Most of the governing bodies in fitness agree that at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise per session is a good number to shoot for.  You can break this 30 minutes down into 2 sessions of 15 minutes or 3 sessions of 10 minutes.  Just be sure to keep the intensity up.  Also, try to shoot for 3-5 sessions per week.

2) Muscle

Increase muscle tone in your legs and hips standing about a foot in front of a chair.  Place your feet a bit less then shoulders width apart.  Place the weight of your body on your heels.  Lower your body down into the chair but don't sit down and then slowly rise up.  Do this movement 10-20 times.  There are a variety of other exercises that focus on those muscles.  This is just one exercise that you can get started on.

3) Skin Tone

It's important to improve the skin that is bumpy.  One thing that makes the skin tone less then attractive is water retention.  Reduce water retention by staying away from foods high in sodium (salt) and drinking lots of water.  It's important to get good circulation to the skin, so continue to do cardiovascular exercise.  Massaging the effective areas will help as well.
